The present volume is a translation of a Polish-language publication written on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the 20th anniversary of Poland’s membership in this Alliance (Sojusz północnoatlantycki w środowisku niepewności i zmiany. Dwadzieścia lat członkostwa Polski, Wydawnictwo Sejmowe, Warszawa 2020). It consists of articles describing the new international and internal situation within the Alliance itself and the tasks that arise before it in the complex environment of contemporary reality and in the face of new hybrid and asymmetric threats, i.e., below the threshold of war, requiring the implementation of NATO’s obligations regarding collective defense, as well as partnership and cooperation with non-member states.
