Opis książki:
British popular culture, in all its diversity and variety, has become a field of intensive academic explorations in Poland, many of them by degree students of English. This volume is meant to popularise some of the interesting projects never intended for publication by the student researchers. The esseys cover aspects of British politics, media, music, film and popular literature at the close of the twentieth century. They indicate that the Labour Partys concept of "New" Britain introduced for political marketing is justified by significant qualitative transformations of British culture. In their critical interpretations the authors apply key theories and methods of the field to empirical material and demonstrate the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to cultural analysis.
