Książka ta jest przeznaczona głównie dla studentów matematyki i filozofii, ale może być użyteczna również dla studentów innych kierunków. Jest to książka przystępna dzięki możliwie dokładnemu i ścisłemu przedstawieniu zawartej w niej problematyki. Zakres przedstawionego materiału obejmuje problematykę zwiążaną z prawami logicznymi, dowodzeniem, wynikaniem i definiowaniem, czyli materiał, którego znajomość jest najbardziej niezbędna u każdego matematyka i filozofa. Obecne, drugie wydanie tej książki zostało rozszerzone o kilka nowych paragrafów. Dotyczą one dualności,aksjomatycznego ujęcia metateorii, relatywizacji kwantyfikatorów, definicji indukcyjnych i definicji w rachunku zdań.
Foundations of logic
This book is addressed mainly to students of mathematics and philosophy. Since it does not assume any special knowledge on the part of the reader, it can also be useful for students of other disciplines. This book is very accessible to students and this goal has been acheived not by simplification of the problems but rather by their precise and exact presentation. This made the author restrict the subject matter. Actually the book deals only with problems concerning laws of logic, proving, resulting and defining. This is however the knowledge that is indispensable for every mathematician (especially teacher of mathematics) and philosopher. For the study of some more extensive discussion of other problems such as calculability and so on the reader must reach for A. Grzegorczyk/s works or some specialist monographs. This is a revised edition of the book and some parts have been added. Also the printer/s errors have been corrected and some other minor faults and parts of the book have been revised to make them more lucid.
