The book undertakes the basic issues of contemporary applied ethics such as: relations between the individual and the society, some ethical principles of institutional and bureaucratic-administrative arrangement of society; the moral valuation of institutional activity; individual and collective responsibility in the context of the institutionalization of social life; some basic principles of the ethics of interdependence. In his considerations, the author takes advantage of the conceptual tools worked out in his previous books; especially, he indicates the culture-creative significance of occupational-deontological regulations of moral layer of social life.
Within the spectrum of the author`s interest remain the business and management ethics, the ethics of politics and politicians, and the ethics of mass media, especially, moral dilemmas of journalism in the wider context of communication ethics. The book promotes virtue ethics perspective rather than rule-deontology approach to the issues.
