The book deals with two generations of poets, whose poetic debutes were in the 80s and 90s of the past century, and who at the same time were persons influenced by the pre-transformation and (post)transformation epochs. The dissertation elicits fundamental communication processes as documented in poetic works of both generations. They concern both changes of communication codes, aesthetic changes, their outlook of the world and spiritual ones as well as dilemmas concerning identity and struggle with being an object to which the traumatic war experiences and the post-war transformation have led. In the loss of identities and finding new ones as well as in building ones own place in the world what is essential, on the one hand, is the post-modern horizon, and on the other, a firm involvement in the Croatian and post-Yugoslavian reality (such key-words dominate for the post-modern horizon as mirror, game, mask, the Other, object, body, language, text, intertextuality).
