This, book written by a professor from Poznań who also contributed to the development of astrometry himself, describes observation methods and techniques used in this field of studies from the ancient times till now and gives a survey of astronomical %instrumentarium. The instruments are discussed in the book in four main groups: meridian and equatorial instruments, clocks and modern instruments. The book contains more than 400 illustrations and valuable annexes (chronicle of astrometry, list of large radiotelescopes and reflectors which are operated worldwide with their parameters, an index of people important in the history of astrometry). This study, the first to be published in Polish, is dedicated to students of astronomy, physics, geodesy, but can also be useful to all those who are interested in this fascinating field of science.
