I would like to recommend Ad Americam - a periodical of Ph. D. students from the Center for American Studies at Jagiellonian University. The periodical itself is in many aspect unique. Firstly it was created thanks to the sole initiative of Ph. D. students. (...) Secondly, this periodical, taking from many prestigious scholarly periodicals like for example The Law Review at various American universities, was actually developed and edited by Ph. D. students alone, who also found private sponsors to complete their undertaking. Thirdly, as we all know, Ph. D. students create the group which is going to be responsible for sustaining the proper academic level in the nearest future. (...) Fourthly, all the subjects of papers in this issue were proposed by the students themselves. They wanted to present their work on doctoral dissertations as well as the outcome of the confertence "The Image of Women in American Culture" held at our Center.
