James Patterson has been one of my favorites over the years, though some of his books leave me wanting. Mary Mary I thought was excellent but Step on a Crack was terrible! This one was somewhere in the middle. The first half is excellent. I wish the kidnapping plot had been more pivitol to the story line. I was waiting for more, but it suddenly just ends. No big Zippity do da ending. So while the lead up was good, the ending was a let down.
